Abstract

Teacher love is an important dimension of teacher development. However, the discussion of teacher love theory is not enough to support the complexity of teacher love in practice, and cannot answer the phenomenon of teacher love loss that is ubiquitous in reality. With the help of Turner’s emotional arousal and social embeddedness theory, the factors affecting the loss of teacher love of front-line teachers are analyzed from three levels: “transaction needs” in interpersonal interaction, the unit conditions of the group and category in which the teacher is located, and the system and culture in which the individual teacher and the group are embedded. Possible paths for the return of teacher love are proposed, namely: schools and teacher groups reform the system to build humanized teacher management, cultivate individual teachers’ love and love ability to promote teacher love, and the country and society build multi-dimensional support to promote teachers’ emotional development.
