Research on Opportunities and Communication Strategies of Chinese Rural Stories from the Perspective of “South – South Communication”

Abstract

With the continuous deepening of South-South cooperation, rural areas, as the foundation and development aspiration of global southern countries, have gradually become the main fields of China’s support to southern countries and the important carrier of Chinese path to modernization. This article starts from the theoretical perspective of rural communication and South-South communication, and adopts the research method of in-depth interviews to conduct a detailed study on the content of the interviewees’ speeches, mutual communication, and the inherent connection between Chinese rural stories and the macro political and economic background of southern countries around the world. Through research, this article concludes that the dissemination foundation, dissemination platform, and expression methods of Chinese rural stories in southern countries around the world will significantly affect the dissemination effect of the content. This article summarizes the challenges and opportunities faced by the “southern turn” of Chinese rural stories in the field of international communication, and summarizes the dissemination strategies of Chinese rural stories from the perspective of South-South communication.
