Abstract

The world’s changes are accelerating, and dangers are emerging one after another. Building China’s own discourse system, strengthening its own communication power, speaking well of China’s voice, and breaking the ideological control of the West have become increasingly important. However, relying solely on “self shaping ” is clearly unable to meet China’s current international demands. It is equally important to pay attention to how the West shapes China. The West uses its powerful discourse system and advanced technology to construct a one-sided or even misleading image of China. With the arrival of a new technological revolution, the West combines artificial intelligence and algorithms to accurately push its audience. This undoubtedly increases the difficulty for China to implement its “going out” strategy and for the world to have a more comprehensive understanding of China. Therefore, it is of great significance to pay attention to how the West constructs the image of China through algorithms and whether the discourse system of China can truly play a significant role.
