Research on the construction of national cultural image of AI short videos from the perspective of image community

Abstract

The continuous evolution of AI technology provides new ideas for the construction of national cultural image. This article takes the three adapted versions of the novel A Mortal’s Cultivation of Immortality as an example. First, by comparing the technical basis and narrative differences between the three in “literary drama, martial arts drama, environmental drama” and other drama types, it analyzes the cultural symbol presentation and narrative style characteristics of the AI short video version. Furthermore, through a questionnaire survey, we explored the image-building effect of AI videos and the audience’s sense of national identity. Finally, combined with in-depth interviews, the audience’s perception path of “Chinese traditional cultural images” in the AI short video version was explored from a psychological level. This article aims to clarify how technological iteration reshapes the presentation of cultural symbols and its impact on the audience’s cultural cognition and identity, and provides theoretical and practical reference for cultural communication in the new technological era.
