Abstract

The international situation is changing rapidly, and the traditional “center-periphery” pattern is being gradually broken, developing countries are rising, and the ranks of “Global South” countries are expanding to reshape the new international communication order in multiple fields. With China’s growing international influence, Western hegemonic countries have felt an unprecedented crisis, and as a result, a series of acts that damage China’s national image have emerged, especially on overseas international platforms dominated by the United States (Facebook, Twitter, etc.). In the era of algorithms, big data and cloud computing have gradually become important driving forces and competitive forces in international communication. However, algorithms are a double-edged sword. On the one hand,They guide positive emotions and steer the public opinion landscape. On the other hand, they endanger national data security and monopolize the international communication order. This article attempts to analyze how China is building its national image amid multiple risks and opportunities in the face of the ever-changing international communication landscape. What is the specific logic behind it? At the same time, what restraints have international social media platforms imposed on China in the process?
