Abstract

With the rapid advancement of generative artificial intelligence technology, the application of AI Text-to-Video in the field of news dissemination is becoming increasingly widespread, posing challenges to traditional animated news formats. This study employs experimental methods and in-depth interviews to explore the differences in user cognitive effects, emotional attitudes, and media preferences between AI Text-to-Video in animated news and traditional animated news. The findings reveal that AI Text-to-Video in animated news holds an advantage in initial cognitive effects and emotional responses, whereas traditional animated news performs better in long-term memory retention. Additionally, user preferences for the two news formats tend to be neutral, indicating their functional complementarity in news production. In the future, news production should emphasize “ human-machine collaboration,” with journalists transitioning from “content producers” to “ planners and reviewers.” Simultaneously, optimizing AI emotional models is essential to enhance the authenticity and diversity of news.
