The Relationship between Emotional Leadership and Retention Intention of Preschool Teachers in Private Kindergartens: Mediated by Organizational Commitment

Abstract

The study employed questionnaires on emotional leadership, organizational commitment, and retention to investigate the relationship between emotional leadership, organizational commitment, and retention among 380 preschool teachers in private kindergartens. The research findings indicate a positive correlation between emotional leadership and both organizational commitment and retention. Organizational commitment serves as a significant mediator between emotional leadership and retention. Emotional leadership can enhance retention , both directly and indirectly through organizational commitment. Demographic characteristics of the preschool teachers in private kindergartens were considered to understand the sample features. The results highlight the crucial role of emotional leadership in fostering organizational commitment and enhancing retention among preschool teachers, providing a theoretical basis for improving their job satisfaction and stability.
