Abstract

Against the backdrop of the deep integration of the New Liberal Arts initiative and innovation and entrepreneurship education, design programs at application-oriented universities face challenges such as a disconnection between educational objectives and industry needs, outdated teaching methods, and insufficient practical platforms. Taking the reform practices of the School of Art and Design at Kunming University as an example, this paper proposes the construction of a “Linking” education and teaching system for application-oriented undergraduate design programs. By aligning educational goals with industry demands, integrating resources and co-building platforms, empowering teaching with information technology, and fostering collaboration between internal and external faculty, the system aims to bridge the gap between talent cultivation and market needs. Practice has shown that this system significantly enhances students’ innovation and entrepreneurship capabilities and promotes curriculum development as well as the transformation of teaching outcomes.
